Psalm 136
God of God and Lord of Lords, You are Holy, You are Creator of all things.
We praise you for your power, your love, and your Holy Spirit who gives direction and wisdom to your church.
Your church is groaning under the pain of trying to know your will. We want to love others as you have loved us! We want to follow your commands for our lives which you detailed in your Living Word, the Bible. Help us to KNOW how we hurt you with our disobedience and sin. We believe that unity in thought and action is possible with the help of your Holy Spirit.
Help us be obedient to Your desires, not our own. Help us to truly know what your will is for ourselves and for your church. Bring us together by the power of your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ name!
Following God’s will is not always clear because we allow the world and Satan to muddy the waters. If we depart from UMC and continue to adhere to a bishopric and same book of discipline, how do we know bishopric leadership will be strong enough to call churches into accountability?
